Despite summer being our off season we have been busy. For the last couple of weeks we have been picking and selling Charley’s sweet corn and peas in between sticking our two shipments of poinsettia cuttings.
Doesn’t sound like a whole lot, but it is keeping us busy.
The OFA Short Course and trade show was this week. I didn’t go which was actually a nice change of pace for me. From what I hear the show was well attended and the outlook was optimistic but it was also stated that only those who made money went to the show and therefore the survey pool was skewed. I don’t know if that is true or not. It certainly had no bearing on my decision not to go. I was simply tired of doing all travelling like I’ve been doing the last few summers, and I want to get some stuff done around the house.
So far I have enjoyed not going but have not had a whole lot of luck getting anything done around the house. Maybe I can get something done next week.
Here are some pictures of the mums out in the fields, the poinsettia cuttings, sweet corn and peas.
