Durango Marigolds are compact French marigolds with an abundance of large 2″ anemone type blooms. The plants have strong stems and good branching.
As a sun loving plant, you can depend on marigolds to spruce up any garden with a lot of flower power. They provide a bright display of color and are easy-to-grow and maintain. Marigolds have been a long-time favorite of gardeners.
Marigolds are a great companion plant for pretty much all garden plants, blooming or edible. Their roots contain thiopene which is toxic to certain nematodes. Plant marigolds around the outside of your garden to discourage aphids and beetles from stopping by for an all you can eat smorgasbord.
They will also attract beneficial insects that will snack on the insects that are feasting on your plants. Beans, carrots, cabbages and tomatoes are just a few plants that benefit from having marigolds as a companion plant.
Plant in full sun 6-10″ apart. Grows 10-12″ tall.
Durango Marigolds are available in J6 (606) and #4 (1801). We grow Durango Bee, Durango Bolero, Durango Flame, Durango Outback Mix, Durango Red, Durango Tangerine and Durango Yellow.
