
Gerbera Daisy has large, 3-4 inch daisy flowers that bloom in very bright colors. Its colors Include red, pink, yellow, white, and orange. The foliage consists of large, dark green leaves that have serrated edges and a puckered appearance. Gerbera Daisy blooms are held above the leaves on tall, singular stems.
Gerbera Daisies are great in flower beds, containers and for use as cut flowers in your own floral arrangements. They will bloom beginning in spring and may stop during the hottest part of summer. When temperatures begin to cool down again they will perk back up and continue providing bold color until the first frost in the fall.
Gerbera Daisies prefer morning sun and afternoon shade seem to be the preference. They also like soil that drains well. Too much water can cause root or crown rot. Be sure to plant them where the crown is just above the soil level to prevent rotting. Also do not plant them too close together. Too close can prevent good air circulation around the foliage and can promote diseases rot.
