Tropical Hibiscus

Tropical Hibiscus brings a hint of the tropics into your landscape and patios with large, gorgeous, and brightly colored blooms.

The Tradewinds Hibiscus® series hibiscus has dense, compact, glossy green foliage with large 4 to 6 inch blooms. Due to their vigor, they are better suited for use in large pots and in landscapes. Their most outstanding feature is their large blooms.

Tropical Hibiscus can be planted in containers or directly into the flower bed. They prefer full sun and evenly-moist, well-drained soil. Feed monthly March through October and use the highest rate on the label.

Being tropical plants, they love the heat. What tropical hibiscus can’t take is the cold. They do not do well outdoors when the temps get below 50F. If you want to keep them for more than one season, you can move them indoors to over-winter. Be sure to put them where they can get at least 4 hours of sunlight. Feed once and use the lowest rate on the label.

Plant Tropical Hibiscus 24-36″ apart in full sun. They grow 24-36″ tall.

We produce them in our 1G Tropical category. We grow the Tradewinds® Hibiscus series. These are the varieties we grow:
