Imperial Blue Plumbago adds a splash of azure to your planters or flowerbeds. Clusters of deep blue flowers sit daintily on trailing green foliage, but don’t be fooled, these plants are tough. They like warm climates and do especially well in the heat. You can let them grow in a shrub-like habit or tie them up on a trellis. In the deep south, they can grow 4 to 6 feet tall but in other areas they stay around 1 to 2 feet tall. If you live in an area where you are likely to get frosts, you can over winter your Plumbago indoors in a bright location.
You can attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds to your garden with Imperial Blue Plumbago. Deer tend to leave them alone.
