Janie Marigolds

Janie Marigolds are double bloom marigolds that flower early and are compact with 1.5 to 1.75 inch blooms. As a sun loving plant, you can depend on it to spruce up any garden with a lot of flower power. With such a lovely display of color and an easy-to-grow as well as maintain reputation, it is no wonder these plants have been a long-time favorite.

Janie hold its blooms 2-3″ above the plants. The plants are low and bushy. They will bloom all summer long. Janie Marigolds are a great choice for flower bed borders, edging and containers. They are very heat tolerant.

Marigolds tend to have fewer pests problems than other annuals. They are a great companion plant for pretty much all garden plants, blooming or edible. Their roots contain thiopene which is toxic to certain nematodes.  Plant marigolds around the outside of your garden to discourage aphids  and beetles from stopping by for and all you can eat smorgasbord.

Additionally, marigolds will also attract beneficial insects that will snack on the bugs that are feasting on your plants.  Beans, carrots, cabbages and tomatoes are just a few plants that benefit from having marigolds as a companion plant.

Plant in full sun to part sun 6-10” apart. Grows 8-10″ tall and 6-8″ wide.

We grow Janie Marigolds in our J6 (606) Annuals and #4 Annuals sizes and carry Janie Deep Orange and Janie Bright Yellow.
