Salvia greggii is also known as Autumn Sage. They are native to Texas and Mexico. They are bushy perennials that blooms from spring until frost. Flowering peaks in early summer then again in the fall. S. greggii comes in a wide variety of colors.
Butterfly and hummingbirds are attracted to their blooms and the foliage is slightly aromatic. Salvia greggii are popular perennials due to their humidity, heat and drought tolerance. They are semi-evergreen or near evergreen in milder climates.
Salvia greggi is easy to grow and requires very little maintenance. They are disease free and deer resistant. They don’t need pruning but they can be pruned lightly to remove errant shoots.
