Mystic Spires Salvia (Sage)

Mystic Spires Salvia has true blue flower spikes on sturdy, dark-green foliage that starts blooming when the days start getting longer. It is a very free flowering and compact version of Indigo Spires. Butterflies and hummingbirds are attracted to the bloom spikes.

Mystic Spires Salvia is heat and humidity tolerant and will grow in most any soil condition as long as it drains well. It is not known to have many issues with pests or disease and is easy to grow. Regular watering is recommended but too much water and fertilizer can produce a lot of foliage, but reduce flowers.

If the plants get a bit crazy looking during the summer, they can be trimmed back by half and they will come back and continue blooming. Occasional deadheading will also help to promote continued blooming. In the spring, wait until the growth is strong to cut back the old foliage from the previous year.
